The Yakima SteelHead fits many bicycle sizes and shapes including road racing bikes with skinny tires on up to cruiser / hybrid bike tires and mountain bike knobby tires (not compatible with mountain bikes with disc brakes). Fork mount design delivers very aerodynamic and fuel efficient performance. Easy to use skewer adjustment using special Yakima engineered lockable skewer. Perform tightening adjustment to skewer the first time and never worry about adjusting again. Simply place bike on fork mount and close shut the skewer lever. Easy to use rear ratcheting strap holds rear wheel securely in place. Yakima SteelHead bike rack mounts to Yakima round bars only. Optionally lock bicycle inside the carrier using a Yakima SKS lock core. Also, when the Yakima Steel Head skewer is inserted and locked closed using a Yakima lock core, it prevents anyone from being able to pull up the red lever on the SteelHead head assembly and steal the bike rack itself.
